In 1986, the non-profit The Visual Arts Foundation (Fed. ID# 33-017-0340) was formed to bring literary quality visual arts programming to San Diego. Since then, our direction has focused solely on supporting the next generation of filmmakers - through our year round BestFest America programs (Student Scriptwriting Contest, 48Hours of Madness Student Film Competition, Student Film Festival, Mentoring Outreach, Seminars and Workshops) we mentor, train and inspire thousands of creative young filmmakers, providing a forum for their work to be seen and help to foster their storytelling craft."
